Vincenzo Funaro

Instructor

Vincenzo Funaro is an Edmonton born tap dancer. A recent University graduate, he has studied all genres of dance; tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop and musical theatre, for over ten years. He fell in love with tap as time went on, and tap has become his specialty. For Vincenzo, tap was more than just a fun dance class; he loved the theory and musical aspect of it and is heavily inspired by the tap legend himself, Chuck Green. Vincenzo has performed at multiple fundraising events, competitions and performances. He was accepted and trained in “The Next Steps: Tap Technique and Professional Development Program”, where he chose to focus on the musical aspect of tap, working with live musicians. Through The Next Steps, Vincenzo had the opportunity to begin teaching his own classes and regularly perform at multiple events throughout the city.

Most notably, he was involved with the co-production of the tap show “For The Love Of Tap”, during the summer of 2016. Vincenzo’s goal is to teach rhythm tap, while inspiring his students to fall in love with this genre. He aims to have all of his students feel welcome… as dance is for everyone!
